Live Music Machine Powers Alternative Booking strategy - Fan to Band Booking -

LiveMusicMachine.com

Big thanks to our friends at Evolver.com & Label 2.0 (congrats on the new partnership with Reverbnation.com) for alerting us to Live Music Machine.com, which appears to be a smart tool for bands to book gigs directly with fans, bypassing some of the issues new artists encounter in dealing with venues.

As the Evolver.com article explains, "LiveMusicMachine.Com has been developed expressly to make it easier for artists and bands to be booked by anyone at anytime and from anywhere on the Internet. If you never knew how easy it was to book your favorite band, you will now."

Although shows booked outside of regular performance venues won't qualify for venue sales reporting due to Soundscan's regulations, this looks like an interesting development for performing artists seeking to develop a market before transitioning to live venues.

Reporting your live show Download Card sales to Soundscan made easy with IndieHitMaker

Download Cards Image by alex_lee2001 via Flickr

One great benefit any artist has upon becoming an IndieHitMaker client is the ability to report live show sales for Download Cards at the point of sale.

This is important for two reasons:

  1. If you already have Download Cards from your favorite Download Card vendor but don't have a way to report your venue / live show sales to Soundscan, you can sign up with IndieHitMaker and report them through our system.
  2. As an IndieHitMaker client, even if you sell a Download Card at a qualifying show, report your sales to Soundscan via our system and then, your customer never downloads your track (lost/forgot about it), your sale still counts toward your venue sales total.

We've also launched a unique Chart Buster beta program to help select existing IndieHitMaker clients maximize their revenue, credibility and exposure through our IHM download card solutions, so feel free to register today at www.IndieHitMaker.com and ask your Artist Support manager about the program.

by jstringer 15. September 2009 07:30

If you are an artist with recorded music on the internet and are not registered with SoundExchange, you may want to check the SoundExchange Unpaid Artist list to see if you or someone you know is on it (and then get signed up whether you are on the list or not):
